Pause
A pause is a cessation of action or speaking, with the implication that the action or speaking will continue. (It doesn’t always.)
In life, the break in routine can be of any duration. It may involve a complete change in lifestyle or a simple coffee break.
In playing music or videos, a pause is the double vertical bars on the screen or machine button. It will stop playing until the sideways triangle is clicked or the user switches to another page or disk.
In dialogue in written form, an ellipsis (…) indicates a spoken pause while the speaker thinks or changes the subject.
In a written sentence, a comma indicates a brief pause, shorter than and without the finality of a period.
