Welcome to my site! I’m excited to share this new experience with everyone.
I live on a small acreage with three horses, eleven older cats and three newly acquired kittens, two ewes and two lambs, and too many chickens.
My fingers are relearning where the black and white keys are on my newly restored pump organ. My other new learning challenge is a smart phone.
Now that I’m retired from teaching, I have the time to create a blog and write. Two books are in the making, and several short stories have files on my laptop. They include stories about animals (talking and not), about regular people, a fantasy, and even a zombie story.
One of my shorts is in an anthology published by the Nebraska Writers Guild, and another will soon appear in an Australian school magazine.
To help you know me better in relationship to this site, I’m not a perfectionist, but I do notice grammar and punctuation in what I read.
In one of my college classes, our assignment was to write adjectives to describe ourselves. I don’t remember all the words I wrote, but I learned a lot about myself. (You might try that sometime.)
I now offer what I’ve learned over the years. Punctuation matters, spelling matters, word order matters, but the most important aspect of our writing is the message we convey. There’s a whole world out there waiting to hear from us. What we say can change a life–maybe two lives, even three lives, … who knows how many?
